(CARLSBAD), NM)- The New Mexico Department of Veterans’ and The
United Way of Carlsbad & South Eddy County will host a Veterans Town
Hall in Carlsbad on April 28 at 6 p.m. at the Carlsbad Public Library,
located at 1o1 South Halagueno Street.
New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services Secretary Jack Fox and
Deputy Secretary Alan Martinez will provide updates on local, state and
federal veterans’ issues-and how the agency has expanded its reach and
services in Carlsbad and southeast New Mexico. Representatives from the
VA will also be there to provide updates and answer questions about VA-
Secretary Fox and Deputy Secretary Martinez will also be joined by
Cemetery Program Director Tom Wagner and New Mexico General Services
Department Facilities Management Division Director George Morgan to
provide an update on the proposed Carlsbad State Veterans Cemetery.
Before the town hall meeting, the United Way and C-N-G catering will host
a BBQ from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. in front of the library. United Way of Carlsbad &
South Eddy County Director Linda Dodd will give a brief presentation on
services available to veterans in the Carlsbad area.
All veterans, Guard/Reserve members are invited to bring their own lawn
chairs to enjoy the food, meet other veterans and their families, and then
attend the town hall meeting.
